John M. Friend
John Friend is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He holds PhDs in marketing and political science from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Dr. Friend's research examines marketing’s role in health care services, the implications of sustainable marketing and innovation for the consumer journey, and consumer behavior under conditions of political polarization. Together, these research streams contribute to the recent shift toward “better marketing for a better world” in the discipline by offering new perspectives on how to enhance consumer, environmental, and societal well-being.
